Monica L. McClain - Online Memorial Website

     Monica Lynn McClain, 51, of Peoria, passed away at 6:20 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
     Funeral services will be private. There will be no public visitation.
     Monica was born on August 12, 1965 in Joliet, a daughter of Hardell and Erma (Milsap) Shelby. Her father preceded her death, along with one sister, Shantel Bouie. She married Eric McClain on December 24, 1985, in Joliet. He survives.
     She is also survived by her children, Abbré, Erica and Rachel McClain, all of Chicago; brothers, Kenneth Shelby of Tampa Bay, FL and Antoine Shelby of Joliet; three nephews and two nieces.
     Monica was a travel agent for her own travel agency, McClain Travel Agency. She also worked with the Peoria and Chicago Convention Centers. She was most passionate about her community outreach program, The McClain Dream Development Center, where she helped single mothers.
     She was a member of Faith Ministries Church in West Peoria, where Jackie Adams in the pastor.
      Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue in Peoria.
